Xenopus is a genus of aquatic frogs, popularly known as the African clawed frog. The clawed frog is an inactive animal that can hibernate for as long as a year and has a long lifespan, living up to 15 years. Xerus Rutilus are burrowing animals known as unstriped ground squirrels. African ground squirrels have an orange-brown or yellowish-brown color and a ring of white hair around the eyes. Their body weight is different according to their habitats, weighing up to 420 grams with an average length of 8 inches.
