If you are looking for an easy crock pot pulled pork recipe, you’ve come to the right place. With three young kids to manage, I don’t do difficult recipes. If you don’t either, you are sure to love this BBQ pulled pork crock pot recipe that’s a breeze to put together for a crowd. It’s the easiest way to serve a pulled pork sandwich.

Slow cooker pulled pork is the easiest way to make pulled pork for a crowd. It’s so simple because you set it and forget it. There is no way to overcook it or forget about it and let it burn. The only way to make this simpler is to make it in an Instant Pot (follow this recipe but cook for 90 minutes on manual).

I’ve been making this recipe for years, and even blogged about it for a BBQ taste test party tutorial, but I never put it on my blog as a stand alone recipe. It’s crazy how that happens sometimes! Some of my most simple and most loved recipes and ideas never make it to the blog. I’ve got to make more of an effort to put recipes like this on my blog, especially since I make it so often.

Is slow cooker pulled pork any good?

Absolutely! It can’t beat smoked pulled pork, but it’s a great option if you don’t have a smoker.

When I do BBQ, I always do pulled pork. As a southerner, I can’t imagine a BBQ without pulled pork. While I prefer the flavor of pulled pork that has been slow cooked in a smoker, we don’t have the time or energy to start perfecting our smoker recipes. Not to mention the fact that we are too cheap to buy a Big Green Egg or smoker. It’s on our wish list though!

Until then, we are content to make our BBQ pulled pork in the crock pot. What started as an easy way to get dinner on the table when we were both working has turned into a family favorite recipe that we use even when entertaining. It’s so easy that we even make our own simple pulled pork rub for this BBQ pork recipe.

How to make pulled pork in crock pot

Y’all, it’s so simple that I’m almost embarrassed to call this a recipe. There are only 7 ingredients here! Of course, you can make it more complicated by making your own barbecue sauce, but we like to keep things simple here by serving our crock pot pulled pork with store bought barbecue sauce.

To get started, make a rub. We make ours with paprika, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Rub it all over a 3 pound pork shoulder and put it in the crock pot. Combine apple cider vinegar and BBQ sauce and pour over the pork. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 8 hours. You can cook it on high for 5 hours or until the pork shreds easily.

Perfect for a pulled pork sandwich or slider

BBQ pulled pork in the crock pot is absolutely perfect for a pulled pork sandwich or a slider. Can you ever go wrong with sliders? I think not.
